Questions and Answers:

Q. WILL ALL MEMBERS OF ST. BERNADETTE BE ASKED TO MAKE A COMMITMENT TO THE "FIFTY AND FREE" CAMPAIGN?
A. Yes. Each registered family will be asked to pledge to the campaign. It is up to you, with prayerful thought, the commitment level you are able to choose.

Q. WHO WILL BE CONTACTING ME FOR MY COMMITMENT?
A. You will be contacted by a member of our parish who has volunteered to explain the campaign and to ask for your commitment.

Q. WILL ALL PARISH FAMILIES BE VISITED?
A. All parish families will be contacted with the intent of arranging a brief home visit.
Q. IS THE CARD I SIGN A LEGAL DOCUMENT?
A. No. The card is simply a declaration of intent, a commitment made in faith. It is understood that your gift may be revised should circumstances make it necessary.

Q. HOW LONG WILL MY COMMITMENT LAST?
A. The campaign will cover a three year period, although you are welcome to pay your commitment in full at any time.

Q. IS THIS COMMITMENT IN ADDITION TO MY REGULAR OFFERINGS?

A. Yes. This is an addition to your regular contributions, which go toward the annual parish budget for carrying on the ministry of the church.

Q. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I'VE BEEN ASKED TO CONTRIBUTE TO PAYING DOWN THE PARISH DEBT. IS THIS REALLY THE LAST TIME?
A. The goal of the "Fifty and Free" campaign is to, finally, completely retire the parish debt, so we can be free to serve the Lord in other ways. We are confident that if each parish member commits to participating in the campaign, this will in fact be the last time you will be asked to contribute.

Q. WE ARE STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY AND DON'T HAVE THE MONEY RIGHT NOW. WHAT CAN WE DO?
A. We certainly recognize that not all families have the financial resources to commit a significant amount for the next three years. You need to know that ANY amount is gratefully appreciated. Please contribute according to your means today, and if your financial situation improves in the future, consider increasing your commitment then. In the meantime, please consider volunteering to serve as a member of the campaign in convincing other families to contribute to the campaign. Call the St. Bernadette Parish office for information on how you can lend your talents to the campaign.
